On Friday 29th September, Space Saver took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning organised by Macmillan Cancer Support. Our event was open to all customers and friends and was an all-day affair. We had a great day, drank too much tea and ate far too much cake – of course would have been rude not to! One of our lovely customers won ‘Guess the height of the tallest cake’ competition and gamely donated her winnings back to charity. Unbelievably the cake was almost a meter tall!
We are really pleased to say, we raised £180 for such a great cause. Everyone was very generous.
Can you believe the Macmillan Coffee Morning is now in its 17th year? The first event, in 1990, was a simple idea of bringing people together over coffee and asking them to donate the cost of their drink. It was such a success that the following year the idea was rolled out nationally. From this humble beginning, Macmillan and its supporters have raised over £138 million with their coffee morning idea.
Last year they raised £25 million let’s hope for even more this year!
Thank you everyone for your support!
